The Lewis Edition: July Trip, Part 3

 In Michigan's Upper Penninsula!

We visited a lighthouse along Little Bay de Noc ...

... and enjoyed walking around and admiring the unusual flowers!

We attended an awesome piano concert in Escanaba
put together by one of Russell's former colleagues.

Our first time ever to get to sit together at a concert ...
usually I'm in the audience while Russell is on stage!
Very special time!!

Lovely sunset!

Lake Michigan

So blue!

We spent a night at a Recreational Area along Lake Michigan.

View of the famous Mackinaw Bridge as we traveled Hwy. 2

We spent 2 nights at a campground near Sault St. Marie
and enjoyed meeting our "neighbor," and now friend, 😃
Jan, who was parked next to us.

Watching the freighter, Presque Isle, pass through the locks

The UP is stunningly beautiful, everywhere you look!

Russell took me on a very special outing on my birthday:

We visited Taquamenon Falls!

The Lower Falls

I love how the beauty of God's creation is preserved here,
with simple boardwalks to give access to the wonders of the falls
while still keeping the area very much in its natural setting.

Swimming is allowed!

The Upper Falls

Even at this distance, the roar of the falls was quite loud!

Crossing the Mackinaw Bridge is always exciting!

We had an enjoyable time visiting Russell's cousin in Lawton, MI,
then spending a week in Ohio with his brother and sister-in-law.
After a night along the way and a couple nights in Tennessee,
the two of us and Daisy were back to home sweet home!

We were gone an entire month,
drove close to 4,000 miles pulling a trailer,
visited 10 states,
and had the best time in the world!

We both agree that this was our best trip to date ...
we love traveling with the trailer!

Interesting wildlife sightings:
  • Sandhill Cranes
  • Triplet fawns
  • American Redstart
  • Chipmunks!
  • Wild turkeys
