Memorial day

We are so grateful for each one who has served our country and fought for our freedom!
Below are a couple of heroes who are sorely missed by all of us this Memorial day and every day!

Uncle Jennings

I'm proud to be an American
Where at least I know I'm free,
And I won't forget the men who died
who gave that right to me!

Daddy Loren (Our grandfather)

My Country, 'tis of Thee
Sweet Land of Liberty
Of thee I sing;
Land Where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrims' pride
From every mountain side
Let Freedom ring.
May God bless America!!

Chickens - the First 5 Weeks

This year we ordered our chicks from our friends, the Hales!

So cute!

Livy LOVES to play with the chicks!

So does our friend, Clara!

This chick is not dead - just not sure what's being done to him! :)

A meat chicken - Cob Cob Fast Feather

An egg chicken - Rhode Island Red

We decided to take pictures to show how much faster the meat chickens grow, compared to the layers.
Here they are just 1 week old

2 weeks old!  Look how meaty the meat chicken is already!

4 weeks old!

Livy still loves them!

This chicken had a hurt leg so Amanda told Livy to hold him because he just needed some TLC.  Later Livy reported "I gave one chicken CPR!"  :)

5 weeks old
Look how much bigger the meat chicken is!

"What?!  You say we have only 3 weeks left to live?!"
We're looking forward to eating these birds soon! :)

At the Corbetts

Last Friday evening we had a get-together at Steven and Anna's for volley ball and ice cream.

We're not great players, but we have fun anyway! :)

We were babysitting Haven and Aislyn, so they went with us.

Patrick wanted to be involved so he chased the ball wherever it went!

The little ones were playing ball too!

Lightning bugs!  (Eva was more interested in chewing on the container!)

Patrick is excited about his ice cream!

Rebekah, Mama Flo, and Daddy enjoying their ice cream
Thanks to Steven, Anna, and Eva for a great evening!!!

A Day With Mama Flo

Livy is always so excited when it's her turn to spend the day with Mama Flo!

Here she is "pranking" Mama Flo with a fake jar of peanuts.

Baby Eva came over!

She's so adorable!

"Look at me!  I'm standing!"

We took King on a walk down to the pond.

"Deborah, I'm afraid there might be snakes!"

Livy tried to read this sign and said, "No singing?"

A kiss for King...

...and a hug too!

Anna and Eva, with their cute little house in the background.

Something sure is funny!

Mama Flo and her second great-granddaughter

I loved the way Eva's hair was blowing in the wind!

Our precious little Eva is 9 months old already!  Click here to see Eva's 9 month pictures!

Hats!

I love this series of pictures!  Remember, you can click on the pictures to view them larger.
The kids were trying on hats, so I told them to get one for Emma. Here's what happened!

Everyone watches Emma reject her hat.

If Emma won't wear a big hat, neither will Livy!

There's a problem with the girls...
  ...but the boys are behaving!

 "Let's turn our hats around!"

Everyone thinks this is great....except Emma, who looks as if she's had enough pictures for one day! :)
