Summertime

Here are some pictures of what we've been up to the last few months.

Drying herbs from our herb bed

Dilly beans

Babysitting a sweet friend

Fresh berries - one of the best parts of summer!

Blackberry ice cream is a family favorite

Yum!

Our neighbors' granddaughters come down for a few weeks each summer.  They came over for the afternoon one day and we made necklaces.

A cute little visitor to our garden (cute until he starts sampling the plants...)

Beautiful sunrise

We found this interesting bug on a blueberry plant.  It's called a saddleback moth caterpillar.  I thought it looked like a character from a Dr. Suess book!

Bagging frozen blueberries with a little helper

A load of blueberries ready to dry

Blueberry bagels

We were babysitting this little guy one evening and he put himself to sleep playing the lap harp.

Beautiful sky over the corn field

Each July we enjoy the local rodeo.

Our favorite rodeo contestant!

When I sliced this cucumber, I thought the inside looked like a face.  :)

This one is for you, Deb.  Hasn't he grown up?!

Mel and Ross came down several times this summer.
