Earlier this month we were able to take a trip to Texas.
Crossing the Mississippi River into Arkansas
A Texas overpass
David had to work until mid-afternoon Thursday, so he and Rachel were a few hours behind us. This is one of their pictures.
Our friends, the Hales, were very gracious to host us for the weekend, and we had a great time with them!
Cutting up chickens together Thursday night
Friday morning, visiting before heading out for the day
The kiddos enjoyed the Hales' animals.
Friday morning we met some of the Wahlquists and Miss Isabel at a park for a few hours.
It was so nice to visit with them while the children played on the playground.
Stephen was so sweet to play with our little ones!
After leaving the park, we went to visit the Defoes. Mr. Defoe was our music teacher over 20 years ago when we lived in Texas.
Mrs. Defoe smiles at a picture of David and Mr. Defoe from way back then.
Here's the picture
David has changed a lot in 20 years!

Visiting over lunch
More visiting...
...and looking at pictures
We had such a nice visit with them!
Next we drove by our old church...
...and the house we lived in for almost 9 years.
It's hard to believe this little patch of grass is all the yard we had to play in growing up! It makes one very thankful for our farm and lots of room now! :)
We have lots of fun memories from this little backyard, though!
The whole area has changed and grown a lot since we moved away! It was fun to drive through it again.
