Shiloh 4-miler

A race this year with dry, warm weather!!

It was muggy (100% humidity that day) but it was such fun to be running
with Amy and Hugh that I didn't even think about the weather!

Daniel came up from Texas to join us for this race, and the minute the horn blew,
he was off and out of sight!
You can see him in the picture.
He's closer to the right side, dressed in burgundy shorts and a cammo shirt

Amy, Hugh, and I came along slowly behind Daniel, enjoying the scenery,
the drier, warmer weather, and most of all, each other's company!

Although I don't have pictures of most of them, we had a huge crowd of cheerleaders with us that day!
They came down from Camden and Paris, Tn, and a group came up from Texas!

Here are our oldest and youngest cheerleaders. :)
(Aren't they adorable!😀)
-Mama Flo is AMAZING!!!  At 93 years of age, she chose to accompany her
family to Shiloh again, to cheer on her racing grandchildren!

Or...come to think of it, maybe she came to enjoy her great-grandbabies???

Here is Allie (Amy's little girl) with Caitlyn, relaxing while
they wait near the finish line

And Deborah with Caitlyn and Allie, in the old Shiloh Church

Our precious Caitlyn!

Though there was no picture of him at the beginning, faithful Jay
was there, wheeling himself again, and finishing before all of the runners!

Here is Daniel's fabulous finish!

Katherine was great!
Our loudest cheerleader of all, she blew this horn loudly when any of
"her" group  crossed the finish line!

When Amy and I got within sight of the the finish line,
she told me to run on ahead...
...so I did, 😉 and Hugh and I crossed the finish line...

...followed shortly by Amy!

Sorry no pictures of the award ceremony...
...but here is a picture of the 1st place finisher's medal
Daniel received!!!

WAY TO GO, DANIEL!!!

And, though Amy and I came nowhere near placing,
we had a terrific time together, and with our precious Hugh-boy!

Caitlyn :)

A few months ago I thought it would be fun to get pictures of Caitlyn with the chicks.  Daniel came out to help me with the pictures.

Unfortunately we ended up with more bloopers than good pictures!  But they were so funny I have to share them!  Caitlyn was treating the chicks like they were kittens! Picking them up by the scruff of the neck!

Daniel rescues one chick while Caitlyn grabs another!

We finally got a picture that didn't look like chick abuse :)  Don't worry. All the chicks were just fine.

And then I thought pictures with Aunt Ruthie's lambs would be fun...

...but they didn't like each other at all!  Caitlyn was terrified of his cries!

And of course all little Texas babies have to get bluebonnet pictures! :)

Love those blue eyes!
 That's all for now!

Hale Edition: Catching Up!

It's been awhile since I posted any pictures.  Most days I'm too busy enjoying my sweet baby! :)  But people have been asking for them, so I thought I'd post some of my favorite pictures from the past few months.

Daniel and Caitlyn moving the cows on a chilly spring morning

Very proud of my man for finishing EMT school at the top of his class even though he was incredibly busy!  Working full time managing things at the farm, taking care of the hatchery, running calls for the fire department, EMT school, and still finding time for his family.  And he didn't go to EMT school to get a job, a raise, or anything like that. He did it so he could better help people as a first responder, volunteering for the fire department.  That's Daniel. Always thinking of others! <3

Watching Daddy work on a dummy

Caitlyn never wants Daddy to leave for work.

The delight that comes from your very first smoothie!

A picnic with some of the cousins

My happy baby

Caitlyn just recently learned how to pick up her toys. She will dump out her balls and then spend the next 20-30 minutes picking them up, spilling them, and picking them up again! She thinks it's a great game!

Easter morning. It was cold!

Es and I with our cuties after the sunrise service.  Our guys had to leave on a fire call.

Easter Sunday was a busy day for our fire fighters. A med call, 2 wrecks, and a big fire to top it off.  Everyone was tired and hungry, so we brought them some snacks on scene, then had pizza back at the station when the fire was out.  It was nearly midnight by the time we headed home.

Teething on a carrot - Caitlyn has 4 teeth now!

Cute baby in her pajamas :)

Helping Daddy in the hatchery.  We had over 5,000 chicks this afternoon!

We had a fun visit from some of the family!

I love how the doorway frames this picture!

We all pulled out our cameras and had fun!

These 2 girls really love each other!

Hudson being silly :)

Cousin pile!

Look who's trying to walk!
She's only taken 4 steps at a time, but that's pretty good for a 9-month-old!
And this is how a firefighter's daughter gets dressed... :)

One of the many fires our guys put out recently.

First trip to the splash pad!  She LOVES water!

First piece of watermelon.  She cried when I thought she'd had enough and took it away.

Caitlyn enjoys living close to so many of her cousins!

Caitlyn LOVES her daddy!! I love watching them together!
