Corn day!

Our cornfield

We started picking the corn around 6 a.m.
Corn piling up in the truck

A messy little corn face
Mama Flo, Anna, and our friends, the Berrys came over to help us put up the corn.  We don't know what we would have done without their help!
 Livy and Anna
Amanda and Rebekah unloading the second truckload of corn
Livy wanted to taste every ear she shucked!
 "Cheese!"
 Many hours later....still shucking corn!
All our counters were piled high with shucked corn!
We were so busy we didn't get many pictures of the inside work - cutting the corn off the cob and getting it into the freezer.  This picture was taken around 3:30pm.
This year our corn day had a very special ending!  The Gallaghers arrived!!
Livy enjoyed holding baby Emma...
...and Patrick and Nicolas jumped right in and helped put up corn!
 Precious little helpers!

We ended up calling several friends and begging them to come get some corn!  By 8 p.m. the corn was finally all in the freezer or given away.  We are so grateful for this bountiful harvest!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven...a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted.
