The Lewis Edition: July Trip, Part 2

First campground experience, just inside Kentucky.

We turned around when we arrived, and David and Rachel were behind us!
They had seen us getting off the interstate near Nashville as they were getting on,
and turned around and followed us a mile or so to the campground!
So neat, the timing the Lord worked out!!

After a couple nights and a wonderful visit with Russell's sister, Beth,
we drove to Springfield, Illinois, to visit friends of Russell's.

Vic and Bev are such a neat Christian couple!
Our visit with them was one of the high points of our trip.
They are so kind and hospitable; it was wonderful to fellowship with them.
(I do have a picture, but I promised Bev I wouldn't post it!😉)

Our next stop was a campground near Moline, Illinois.

Sunset Lake

We took a walk along the lake and saw
bullfrogs as big as my hand!!

The following day we drove into Moline to visit the John Deere Museum.
I had always thought how fun it would be to visit this museum some day,
and it meant a lot to me that Russell made it happen. ❤

It is a great museum, full of history of the Deere family
and John Deere machinery through the years, with all kinds of
equipment and simulators to explore and an awesome gift shop!

I got to visit both Iowa and Wisconsin for the first time on this trip!
I loved the miles and miles of hilly corn fields, white farm houses,
red barns and dairy cows ... just lovely!

The Mississippi River ... in Iowa!

Another very special thing was getting to visit my dear friend,
Mrs. White, and introduce her to Russell!

It was wonderful, wonderful to see her again
(and Mr. White, for a few minutes!).

 ❤

Going on from there, we spent three nights
at a lovely campground along Green Bay.

Our spot, far down on the left!

We had such a nice stay here!

:)

Morning Bible study + coffee in the trailer = so cozy!

A couple photos from a walk I took one morning

Relaxing to the sound of the waves

"The day is dying in the west,
 Heav'n is touching earth with rest;

Wait and worship while the night
Sets the evening lamps alight
Thru all the sky.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts!
Heav'n and earth are full of Thee!
Heaven and earth are praising Thee,
                                                   O Lord Most High!"
