Fall in Tennessee

The autumn colors are beautiful this year!
This is our front side yard from the woods.
Stuart likes the cool weather.
Our huge oak tree by the garden
Our neighbor's cows
Dogwood berries
The view from our dining room window
The rest of the pictures were taken at Shiloh Park on Saturday.
"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods. In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also. The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land. O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker."

Family Pictures

We decided to take our family picture in the soybean field behind our house this fall because the soybeans were such a pretty color.
Taking hay bales and pumpkins out to the field
Having a little fun with the pumpkins :)

We didn't have anyone to take these pictures, so we put the camera on the tripod and set it on a timer. It's hard to get good pictures that way!

Emily and Amanda left this morning on a trip to Niagara Falls with our grandmother. They have taken the camera with them, so we probably won't have any pictures to post this week. Be sure to check back for pictures from their trip in about a week.

Rain...rain....and more rain!

According to West Tennessee Weather we have received 13.36 inches of rain during the past 2 weeks!
The little pond in front of our house is not so little anymore!
A few flooded places on our farm road
This rushing water is in the middle of the road.
The soybeans are flooded...
...and the creek is filling up.
This is where we sat for a picnic a few weeks ago. (click here to see pictures)
Bamboo on the banks of the creek.
This is a short clip of the rushing water in the creek. (There is no audio on the first two clips.)
When we were walking through the woods (which are quite flooded) we noticed this hole in the ground. Water was rushing into it just like a drain! It must have been coming out somewhere else in one of the creeks, but we didn't see where. We thought it was really neat!

Deer

A few days ago Jonathan walked out on the front porch and saw this!
A closer look.
We don't usually have deer this close to the house because of Stuart. This time he was asleep on the back porch. :)
